A specific and enduring improvement in visual motion discrimination.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Training improves the ability of human observers to discriminate between two similar directions of motion. This gradual improvement is specific to the direction on which an observer is trained, and it endures for several months. Improvement does not affect motion perception generally, nor does it depend on recognition of details of the movement.

Direction-specific improvement in motion discrimination.
With training, an observer's ability to discriminate similar directions of motion gradually improves. A series of studies reveals that this improvement, (1) is restricted to the trained direction and other, similar directions, (2) persists for at least several months, (4) shows appreciable, but not complete, transfer between the two eyes, and (5) is largely restricted to the stimulated region o...
متن کاملThe effect of specific sport skills on improvement Visual–Motor Integration in children with motor disability
Objective: Movement is essential for learning. Previous studies explored the relationship between movement and Visual Motor Integration, however, evidence regarding the specific sport skills related to visual motor integration is lacking. Therefore, the purpose current study was the effect of specific sport skills on visual-motor integration in children with motor disability. Method: Participa...

Background and Objective: Non-specific chronic lower back pain is the most common type of chronic lower back pain. The use of rehabilitation to achieve a more rapid improvement in patients with chronic lower back pain has always been taken into account. The aim of the present study is to determine the effect of a Pilates program on chronic non-specific lower back pain and stable range of motion...
متن کاملCross-Sensory Facilitation Reveals Neural Interactions between Visual and Tactile Motion in Humans
Many recent studies show that the human brain integrates information across the different senses and that stimuli of one sensory modality can enhance the perception of other modalities. Here we study the processes that mediate cross-modal facilitation and summation between visual and tactile motion. We find that while summation produced a generic, non-specific improvement of thresholds, probabl...
متن کاملEffects of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization and Aquatic Exercises on the Pain, Disability, Lumbopelvic Control, and Spinal Posture of Patients With Non-specific Low Back Pain
Objectives: Using an exercise intervention to improve lumbopelvic control (LPC) can enhance the pain severity and disability of participants with non-specific low back pain (NSLBP). The present study aimed to compare dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS) exercises and common aquatic exercises (AEs) in terms of improving the pain, disability, LPC, and spinal posture of patients with non-spec...
